On behalf of Spire Climbing Center and Touch the Sky 501c3, we would like to thank you for your participation in the 7th annual Spire Spring Fling Competition and fundraiser. With your support we were able to raise over $1350 for Touch the Sky’s Scholarship fund. Self-Rescue Clinic: Saturday October 13th, 7-10am & Sunday October 14th, 7-11am Ever watched 127 hours and wondered what you would do? From knots and prusiks, to lowering techniques and pulley systems, this clinic will focus on getting yourself out of trouble on technical roped climbs, so you don’t become material for Hollywood’s next movie. Falling Clinic: Tuesday October 23rd, 6-9pm Does the thought of falling have you hugging the ground? Or perhaps you’re one of the rare few who enjoys the sensation of falling. Either way this clinic is for you. We tackle not only correct falling technique, but also the mental head game that can go with it. The 10th installment of our annual bouldering extravaganza, FULL GRAVITY DAY, is scheduled for November 6, 2010. FGD is the LARGEST bouldering event in the northern Rockies, hands-down! Since its inception, FGD has been a fun and exciting event for climbers of all ages and abilities. FGD is competition, community, and camaraderie. Full Gravity Day is also the largest fundraiser of the year for Bozeman based non-profit TOUCH THE SKY, whose mission is to get youth outdoors through climbing. Touch The Sky provides rock climbing programs for kids which educate, inspire, and empower. Touch The Sky provides service to low-income and at-risk youth organizations. They also provide reduced fee assistance and scholarship to those who are less fortunate. Since 1996, Touch The Sky has provided climbing opportunities to nearly 1000 kids from all walks of life! Touch The Sky also hosts the BOZEMAN CLIMBING TEAM. Spire Climbing Center donates 100% of all proceeds from the FGD events to support Touch The Sky’s missions. This year, in addition to our normal prize raffle for participants, we will also be conducting a SILENT AUCTION in hopes of raising $3000 for Touch The Sky’s SCHOLARSHIP budget. On Nov 7th Spire Climbing Center in conjunction with Touch the Sky is hosting a bouldering extravaganza. For those of you who have been to Full Gravity Day before, you are familiar with the quality, presentation, and unique character that Full Gravity Day has to offer. This year, as always, it will be a day to remember. Competitors in the Open category will battle for a $800 cash purse (split 1st, 2nd, 3rd places men and women) and prizes will be raffled to all entrants. Following the competition, a 40 foot slack-line and dyno comp will entertain the crowd while we set up for the finals. Pizza and beverages will be available to nourish a hungry crowd. Audio/Visual input will be delivered again by DJAJ. And, as always, a killer t-shirt will be provided to all climbers. We are encouraging online registration this year as it helps prevent a traffic jam at our door the day of the event. If you can register online by 8pm the night before the event and save $5.
